Denise Burns

Denise’s art career began on Catalina Island, CA, where the Plein Air Painters of America was born.  This award-winning artist is proficient in watercolor, drawing, acrylics and pastels.  Along the way, Denise discovered a second island, Nantucket.  Painting and represented by island art galleries for decades, her fresh yet traditional style and subject matter continue to gain admirers.  One of the founders of the Plein-Air Painters of America, the organization recently honored Burns with the Lifetime Achievement Award.  In the 1980’s, Burns gave birth to the ‘wet paint’ shows that proliferate the country today.
